Why We Built This Site
Michigan releases a good deal of warrant information to the public, but it does not gather that information in one place. The hard part is working out which office holds the piece you need. A warrant does not live in one file. The court that signs it sets the charge and the release terms, and the sheriff's office is the agency that serves it and can say whether it is still open. A bench warrant from a missed date usually stays with the court that set the case rather than moving to the county at all. Some states run one statewide warrant system, and Michigan does not.
The result is a familiar dead end. A person calls one office, hears that nothing is there, and concludes the matter is closed. This site collects the contacts, the search tools, and the request steps for each of these offices so a reader can start in the right place and ask a better question.
What You Will Find Here
- Warrant lookups: how a warrant lookup runs by name and case number through the state case tools and the clerk's index
- Outstanding warrants: what an outstanding warrant status means and which office confirms it
- Missed court dates: how a bench warrant begins, which court keeps it, and how the first-miss rules work
- Charge-based warrants: how an arrest warrant issues and who is allowed to serve one in this county
- Resolving a warrant: the practical path, from hiring an attorney to posting bond and asking the court for a recall
What We Cannot Do
This is a privately run reference site. It has no connection to any Michigan court, sheriff's office, or state agency, and there are firm limits on what it can do:
- We cannot run an official warrant check or say whether a warrant exists for anyone
- We cannot recall, quash, or clear an order on any system
- We cannot post bond or accept a payment toward a warrant
- We cannot arrange a surrender, a court date, or a walk-through
- We cannot give legal advice or apply a warrant to your situation
- We cannot promise that every number, fee, or detail here is current today
Only the court that issued a warrant, or the sheriff's office that would serve it, can confirm the file and say whether it has been cleared. This site can point you to the right office, and nothing more.
Search Partners
Some pages here carry search boxes run by outside companies. Those providers set their own prices and run their own services. When a visitor uses one and it leads to a paid signup, this site may earn a referral fee, which is how the pages stay free to read. What those tools charge and what they return is not under our control, and a result from one of them is not an official warrant check.
